Either Brother or peer- creation

Islam has since been known as a religion of faith and co-existence amongst
the mankind and that it invites everybody to abandon racism and prejudice.
In recent times, manifestations of racism and discrimination between one
class and the other one have been on the increase. Moreover, European
and American societies have inherited this in applying a racist measure
to discriminate between the colored and the white down to the end of the
seventies in the past century as well as indicative of social stratification in such
societies.

This being so, one finds in Islam severe rejection of any basis for arrogance and
divergence in any form whether racism, social class, prejudice, or nationality.
Therefore, Islam rejects all sorts of baseless and banal conflicts, social
disintegration, and committing massacres. Rather, Islam invites everybody to
a talk leading to mutual understanding, peaceful coexistence, and considering
one's neighbours so as to attain a happy life, a kind of life in which no nationality
takes pride over another one and never regards for a person a special status
and value. It follows that Islam is a firm religion toward which humanity moves
to crystallize its humanity on a solid basis.

The most convincing reason in favour of what has already been mentioned lies
in a famous quotation of the 1st Infallible Imam `Ali that sheds light on peaceful
coexistence that forms the basis of the Islamic viewpoint in this regard. The
wise quotation is thus: "People are of two kinds: either your brethren in faith
or individuals like you in creation", as asserted in an epistle he wrote for Malik
al-Ashtar.

This is the place where Islam has abandoned all stratification and racist criteria.
As a result, the Islamic civilization has played a significant role in the general
human civilization such that it has been salient due to a Divine coloring it has
shown in the human life. In this way, the Muslim ummah has carried the light
of the human civilization throughout history and has lit the Dark-Age Europe.
It has also shown the right path to the modern European civilization over the
globe. It has been to the credit of Muslim thinkers to innovate modern ways for
academic circles and to have made for them purely academic disciplines free
from superstitions and nonsense.
